A little about me . . .
I am delighted to serve you as a School Counselor for a third year at Green Elementary School. I joined the Green Elementary Family during the 2015 summer.
I received my Bachelor’s Degree from Elon University in Psychology with minors in Human Services, and Public Administration. Shortly after graduation I began working as a Student Coordinator at the middle and high school level providing college access enrichment services. During that time, I decided that I wanted to continue to work with students as a helping professional. I decided to attend the University of North Carolina’s School of Education and earn a Master’s degree in School Counseling. Working at Green Elementary has been an amazing experience and I am confident in my abilities to serve you and your child(ren).
As a School Counselor, I have an unique perspective in the school since I think about the child in a holistic manner. I care about their academic, personal/social, and career domains and address them through my comprehensive school plan. I will be meeting with students individually, in small groups, and through classroom guidance.
Students can request to meet with me through their teachers or a teacher/faculty member can refer the student to me, or you can email me or give me a call at the school.
I look forward to a successful 2018-2019 school year at Green Elementary School.
Kindest Regards,
Mayra Garcia
