Students at Green receive a classroom guidance workshop to help them define bullying and bullying behaviors, differentiate between the types of bullying, what actions to take, and identify resources at school and their homes. All students should feel safe in our school environment.

Awareness: Definition/Types
Bullying Definition: any repeated, systematic pattern of gestures or written, electronic, or verbal communications, or any physical act or any threatening communication on school property, at any school sponsored function; on a school bus; or as otherwise stated in Board Policy-Student Code of Conduct
Types of Bullying:
- Physical: intent to hurt someone's physical body
- Emotional: intent to hurt someone's feelings/emotions
- Verbal: intent to use words to hurt by using profanity, negative comments, harassment, rumors, or laughing
- Cyber: intent to bully using technology/media

What Can Parents Do?
- Contact a school administrator, counselor, social worker, or psychologist for help
- Provide positive feedback for children demonstrating appropriate behavior
- Use alternatives to physical punishment to stop bullying behavior, such as removal of privileges
- Stop bullying behavior as it is happening and begin working on appropriate skills early
